I was asked to take a look at a PC with a "broken" inbox. It was running Eudora Lite 3.0.3 (32). While downloading mail, the program had crashed or frozen (not sure which). The next time he started the machine, he asked if he wanted to create a new inbox. He got the inbox back, but some items had disappeared, and it wouldn't receive new mail. He had to use a different program to receive mail, although he still used Eudora to send mail out. I didn't know the Eudora program, but quickly found it saves folders as files. That's my favorite way... The inbox was two files. The file containing the mails, and an index file. First we copied the mail from the inbox into a different folder. We ended the program and deleted the two inbox files. When we restarted the program, a new inbox was created automatically. Problem solved! |
