Stock Photography

Selfportrait

The underlying idea is that the photographer goes around shooting pictures of things that have a sort of universal appeal. If I do my job properly my pictures can be used over and over for many years and in many countries to illustrate different concepts. These pictures are kept in an archive and sent to the peole who need them, when they need them.. Either by post or electronic means. When I take pictures I'm not trying to hunt down fast-breaking news, but I might shoot someone famous. More often I'll stop someone on the street and as her if she'd like to be model for a day.

The pictures from a stock photo agency are used to illustrate any conccept you can think of, and to as different medias as for instance advertising, editorial (i.e. magazines) and the internet.

Most stock photographers are represented by an agency, and I'm represented by GV-Press (though lately they've switched to a fully electronic archive, and I haven't scanned mine yet). They send pictures to those who ask, but have most of their client-base in Europe and most heavily in Scandinavia. You cannot use my pictures without their express prior, written consent. I'm not too concerned if you use them as desktop background on your own PC, but as soon as you send it to someone else in any form or shape you're violating my copyright, and consequently breaking the law. Don't take the chance of a lawsuit! Contact me first! I'm not unreasonable, but I have to protect my property too. If you have any other comments or ideas please contact me directly.
