Another way to block Bulgarian trackbacks

Kristian Koehntopp has logged trackbacks to his site, and has found a way to block the Bulgarians' trackbacks.

I'm guessing few of you understand German. Either way, the first bit of code is the logging he's included in his comment.php file. His blog is running Serendipity, which he also contributs to. But since it logs to a flat file, it should be possible to at least incorporate that code into Wordpress? Not sure about MT, since it's PERL based. Hmm, anyone up for trying?

Anyway, next he gives some examples of trackbacks, as they've been logged by his code.

Finally, he gives an .htaccess fragment that works for stopping the trackbacks. He's got a line I hadn't seen before: X-AAAAAAAAAAAA
It's in every Bulgarian trackback. His block also contains Cindy's discovery, but he's using SetEnvIfNoCase instead of mod_rewrite. So if you've got a fairly new version of Apache, but no mod_rewrite, this is for you!

I added Kris' code to my WP installation and it works like a charm.
