The trackback spammer is at it again

I just saw his failed attempts in my error log.

Yep, my block is still holding.

But we really need an update to movable type that allows us to premoderate trackbacks, as they already did for comments.

In fact, what I see is that this spammer has been targetting Movable Type and Wordpress installations.

At least one Wordpress developer has already released some quick and dirty plugins for moderation of trackbacks.

We need at the very least a plugin for Movable Type, but ideally, I'd like a new version of the software, with trackbacks moderated by default, like comments. AND I'd like access to trackbacks on the main page, not just buried in the menu once you get to one of the subpages. There is a setting that give you control over whether or not you'll get an e-mail for each new trackback. If you check them every day, you can untick that (in preferences), but then you HAVE to check trackbacks in the admin panel, or you're a sitting duck until there's premoderation!

My way of blocking this clown isn't for everyone. Yes, trackbacks are still enabled, but he's not getting through.
