Do they think Norwegians are stupid?

Gigli was released on DVD here in Norway under an alternate title.

On the back of the cover, it says (in translation):

“The film that made a clean sweep at this year’s Raspberry awards.”

Tell me, do they think Norwegians are STUPID????

They’re advertizing winning the Razzies as though it were an achievement? Yeah, my bad, of course it is, winning for worst movie (or actually, worst onscreen couple)!

Tell me guys, do marketing people often try to get ahead by relying on people being stupid?

Oh, of course, they send spam, what was I thinking…

I think they were just being facetious…”they” probably have no clue as to how brilliant and engaging Norwegians are.

I’m tempted to suggest that relying on people’s stupidity is what Hollywood is all about.

Well, I live in norway and I am an ardent film fan. But I am terribly disappointed in the very low level of interest for serious film art here. You would have to be very lucky to find someone who actually loves great artistic filmmaking here such as Fellini, Murnau, Welles, Renoir etc. Every norwegian I know thinks of the latest hollywood block busters as the greatest movies around. So, I guess a downright awfull film like Gigli would be the perfect film for the average norwegian movie audience.
