Cat bloggers

There’s a new phenomenon in the blogging world. Cats who blog. They’re witty, eloquent, and pretty much the only blogs I read…

My favorite is Muddy, but then I’ve just gotten started looking at the blogs. I have to say Psychokitty looks interesting too. Of course, their owners are doing the actual writing, inspired by the cats. But there’s one cat who does his own typing: Ripley is very popular on LiveJournal.

Of course, my cat blog stands out, because I’m doing both the typing and the thinking. I doubt Pusur would be much interested, actually. These days he’s a lazy kitty. Alternating favorite sleeping spots. The new perch by the window and my bed, mostly. And then in the evenings, he gets acutely bored. The favorite toy right now is a sisal rope, wielded by one of his favorite humans. It’s got enough bounce, so it’s extra funny.

You know, I attended a cat show a few weeks ago. One of the vendors had this toy he said was the most popular among the cats and the judges:

The netshop (Norwegian), is at http://www.stargate.nu/.

Well, anyway, the toy is a wire of some sort that’s bouncey, with a fishing lure at the end. A fly type fishing lure. Apparently the cats can’t quite make out what the colorful thing at the end is, and it’s driving them wild.

I used to give my cat a ping pong ball to play with because it’s very light and moved/bounced around easily when pawed at. Great and cheap toy that guaranteed hours of fun for the cat.

    Hi Ann,

I was fascinated to find your blog and it’s all what I am looking for a “cat blog”. I never thought that there is one like that. I have a cat too but she is on a canvas. She can be seen by admiring the colors and composition I did for her. Do you have a photo of your cat? If you want to see my cat paintings you may view them in my blog. I hope to meet more of cat bloggers like you do. I love painting cats. You may put my blog in your blog links. If you want I can also link yours to mine. Thanks for reading my post. Happy cat blogging! Have a great day!

    Thanks,

Heh, this is as close to manual blog spam as I’ve seen it in a while.

A tip to you: Don’t make it so obvious that you’re advertizing your wares. Next time, talk about the cat, not your art. The visitors WILL check out your link, even if you don’t “point” to it.

And maybe you should get a cat yourself so you’ll have something to talk about?

I have two cats who delight in waking me up at 4:00 AM to go out and then once I am up they stay inside and stare at me.
I have a friend with 8 cats, two of which are about to become mothers. He has started collecting cat videos, and one of my favorites is the Massaging Cat, where the cat is giving a massage to a large dog. If you like funny or touching cat videos, check it out at:
